Zandhazenbrug
With a length of more than 250 meters, the railway bridge is the longest arch bridge in the Netherlands and one of the largest in Europe. Moreover, the bridge is the largest and heaviest object ever moved by road in the Netherlands. The bridge spans the A1 in one go with 16 lanes without intermediate support points. The name of the bridge comes from the nickname of residents of Muiderberg: Zandhazen. The village is built on a sand ridge.
